The Bersans are winemakers since 1453. Jean-Francois and PIerre-Louis are the curretn generation running this estateocated in the heart of Saint-Bris le Vineux.
The Estate is 20 hectares planted for 13 hectares in white with a spread across the following appellations: Chablis 1er Cru to Chablis but also Bourgogne Cotes d’Auxerre and Aligoté without forgetting Saint-Bris.
Chardonnay, Aligoté, Sauvignon-Blanc of course but also Fyé Gris (Sauvignon Gris), an old varietal original to the area that the Estate is cultivating.
The 7 hectares of red include Pinot Noir but also Cesar and produce Irancy, Bourgogne Cotes d’Auxerre in Red but also as a delicious Rosé.
The Winery is modern and allows for a the best vinication process while having vines that are plowed and respected with the use of chemicals being proscribed several years ago.
The cellars of the Estate are a tourist attraction in the village, they are a maze that expands under the city center and were inhabited by the people of Saint-Bris to hide from the invaders during the various wars that happens in the region in the Middle Age.
